James 'Jim' Nero

James grew up in Columbia, Md., where he and his father built the family home. After studying journalism at the University of Maryland, he worked in Washington, D.C., as an advertising copywriter, as the editor-in-chief of a newspaper on stocks, and as a financial reporter on Capitol Hill. He transitioned to sales with Intergraph, a Fortune 500 maker of high-end CAD systems. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002, James launched his career as a business broker. He has brokered the sale of many types of businesses, both large and small, including automotive services, manufacturing companies, franchises and retail stores. He has extensive experience working with business valuation firms and SBA lenders.
